Daniele Anderson’s Christian faith was her life, and her penchant for love and selflessness left a legacy that continues to touch multiple lives.
Her selflessness was so vast that long before her passing in 2022, she registered as an organ and tissue donor.
Her corneas, skin, kidneys, pancreas and liver were used to save and improve even more lives. Daniele’s donations also helped a burn victim, gave sight to someone, and gave invaluable information into research to improve even more lives in the future.
“We talked about it, so it wasn’t a surprise,” said her husband, Paul. “It was a good thought [Daniele had] and even convinced me [to register as a donor]. It is a good and grateful thing you can do for others.”
“She saw the world needed a lot of human parts. People need surgeries, eyes, certain parts of the body. She said, ‘Even if I pass away, I’m going to help and if they can use a certain part of my body’ and basically, she did do that.”
Daniele was a school counselor, teacher, and member of Framing your World Ministry. An outgoing personality, her kindness, faith, honesty and thoughtfulness made her a beacon of light to others.
Including Paul. The two met in 1994, and by January 1995, were married. After 27 years together, Daniele passed away after a brief illness on Nov. 25, 2022.
But her love and legacy endure.
“She was a very outgoing person, very creative and always seeking education,” Paul said. “She made everyone feel loved, and to be themselves, and not to be fake. ‘Be safe and honest.’”
Paul said it was everything that Daniele would have wanted to do.
Despite losing Daniele, Paul was able to fulfill her last wishes without any issue, despite never doing so before.
“The process that took place with her was very easy and it was all professionally done and a great experience,” Paul said. “They informed us that many parts of her body would be used and their purpose. It was wonderful.”
Although sorely missed, Daniele lives on through Paul, her supportive family, and many friends and colleagues who knew and loved this radiant, confident, and selfless lady.
“We are very proud of what she has done and have the insight to be thinking of others while living, and how to help others after being gone,” Paul said.
