BBG sponsors healthcare study
BioBridge Global was one of the sponsors of the 2015 San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Healthcare and Biosciences Economic Impact Study, which was released to the community this fall.
The healthcare and biosciences industry is the fastest-growing sector affecting the economic growth of San Antonio. BioBridge Global is a critical part of that sector, from managing the largest community blood center in South Texas to providing services that enable development of regenerative medicine treatments. BBG is taking the lead in this industry and has forged alliances to help serve patients in San Antonio and around the world.
BBG has more than 40 years of history as a biomedical organization, launching the blood center in 1974 and then moving into biologic testing, tissue services and cellular therapy. The organization’s mission is “to save and enhance lives through the healing power of human cells,” and being a key part of the health care and biosciences industry is critical to that mission.
As a nonprofit organization, BBG continuously reinvests resources to maintain and expand services such as blood collection and banking; tissue collection and family bereavement services; umbilical cord blood collection and banking; and recruiting donors for the national registry to help find bone marrow and stem cell matches for patients in need of transplants.
