San Antonio Business Journal recognizes two BioBridge Global healthcare heroes

Adrienne Mendoza and Dr. Rachel Beddard have been named to the 2023 San Antonio Business Journal list of Health Care Heroes.

They were honored at a banquet on May 25.

Adrienne Mendoza is Chief Operating Officer for South Texas Blood & Tissue. She was chosen in the Executive-Non-Hospital Based category.

Her nomination featured her efforts to reinvent the blood donation process and find new ways to reach donors. It also included some of the organization’s innovative programs, including the Heroes in Arms program to provide specially screened O-positive blood for use in pre-hospital trauma cases, and the Blood Emergency Readiness Corps, in which blood centers help each other through periods when blood is in short supply.

Dr. Rachel Beddard, Chief Medical Officer for BioBridge Global, was selected in the Physician-Non-Hospital Based category.

Her nomination emphasized the work she has done on building the organization’s core competencies and expanding them into new uses. One example was the organization’s ability to stand up the Community Labs COVID-19 testing system in just eight weeks. She also has helped apply longstanding BBG experience into advanced therapies, working across all the subsidiaries to break through bottlenecks in the development of new therapies.
