CEO Landon promotes BioBridge Global’s capabilities at Invest SA

BioBridge Global CEO Martin Landon spoke on a panel during the Invest San Antonio 2023-2024 Conference on Thursday, noting the organization’s growing capabilities.

“Together BioBridge Global is comprised of approximately 700 professionals and staff dedicated to a common mission: To save and enhance lives through the healing power of human cells and tissue,” he said.

The conference explored a variety of ideas, with local executives speaking on one of three panels about the evolving economic growth of the city.

Healthcare, education initiatives

Other panelists with Landon: Dr. Robert Garza, president of Palo Alto College, and Dr. Rodgers Wilson, national medical executive for behavioral health at Evernorth, Cigna Healthcare. The three executives discussed the education and healthcare programs and initiatives driving better health outcomes.

The last two years have brought multiple changes to the local economy, they said. Despite rising costs, rapidly expanding technologies and infrastructures, and education, San Antonio has stayed in the forefront with medical and scientific innovations.

San Antonio’s holistic approach

The city’s holistic approach to these changes was addressed in the three panels, focusing on “Staying Power,” “Further Innovation” and “Forward Development. “

Landon spoke about BioBridge Global’s role in the health care sector, and how his vision for the organization’s employees and its lifesaving mission correlates. He and Garza highlighted the transformative impact of community collaboration in bridging healthcare gaps, emphasizing the urgent need to address healthcare deserts.

One of the most-notable collaborations is the low-titer O whole blood program, which includes Heroes in Arms and systems that supply emergency responders with specially screened units of O-positive blood.

“I’ve said many times that a great quality of life in a community must include access to great healthcare,” Landon said. “It must encompass care and cures.”
