Gabriele Niederauer, PhD, is a serial entrepreneur in the medical device industry and has over 30 years of experience in product development and commercialization of devices for orthopedic, dental, ENT and vascular access. In Jan. 2024, Gabi co-founded Freyya, Inc., a femtech company addressing pelvic floor disorders with a wearable biofeedback device to train and monitor the pelvic floor condition. Her leadership expertise was critical to the successful development of her previous four companies, where she led research, development, regulatory, quality, clinical and intellectual property functions. All of those companies were acquired (Bluegrass Vascular Technologies – acquired by Merit Medical; ENTrigue Surgical – acquired by ArthroCare, C2M Medical – acquired by Tornier, OsteoBiologics – acquired by Smith & Nephew). Investors in each of these transactions achieved positive returns. 

Dr. Niederauer has produced over 20 peer reviewed medical device articles, over 50 presentations, has led completion of dozens of US patents, numerous international patents and numerous regulatory approvals.  Gabi serves on several local and national boards.  She has a BS in Ceramic Engineering from Clemson Univ., an MS & PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Iowa State Univ. and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Orthopedic Biomechanics at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio.

Mike Kreager is a board-certified tax attorney with more than 45 years of practice in San Antonio. His areas of practice include business, merger and acquisition, tax, estate planning, healthcare, and nonprofit law. Mike earned his LL.M. in Taxation and J.D. from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. He holds a B.A., cum laude, from Vanderbilt University. 

He has been recognized, since 2006, as a Texas Super Lawyer by Thompson Reuters and listed since 2005 in Best Lawyers in America (Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, Tax Law, Health Care Law and Nonprofit/Charities Law) by Woodward and White. 

Throughout his career, he has been deeply engaged in the San Antonio community, serving on numerous nonprofit boards, including as board chair of BioBridge Global, the San Antonio Medical Foundation, the San Antonio Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the South Texas Blood & Tissue Foundation.

Randi Brosterman Hutchens is President and CEO of Actionable Transitions LLC, an executive coaching consultancy focused on leadership development for corporate and nonprofit C-suite and senior executives. For more than a decade, Randi has coached CEOs, board chairs, and senior leaders to strengthen leadership effectiveness, navigate complexity, and drive organizational impact, with particular experience in life sciences, healthcare, and financial services. Prior to founding Actionable Transitions, Randi spent 26 years at Deloitte Consulting as a Strategy and Operations management consultant, including 15 years as a Principal (equity owner). At Deloitte, she advised large and mid-sized financial services organizations across banking, securities, investment management, insurance, and credit ratings. Her work centered on enterprise-wide business transformation, post-merger integration, and large-scale, multi-functional program management, partnering closely with C-suite executives to design and implement solutions that met strategic and regulatory objectives. 

Randi currently serves in several board leadership roles. She is Vice Chair of BioBridge Global, a $200 million nonprofit organization encompassing the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center, QualTex Laboratories, and BBG Advanced Therapies, and chairs its Investment Committee while serving on Audit, Finance, and Budget Committees. She is also a Trustee of the Mind Science Foundation and a member of its Finance, Audit, and Investment Committee, and serves on the McNulty Wharton Leadership Advisory Board, including the Steering Committee for the McNulty Wharton Initiative for Women and Leadership. Randi holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing and a BS in Economics (Finance concentration) from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

James Rosenblatt is President of Rosenblatt Law Firm where he works with clients on various transactional matters, and brings more than 30 years of experience in business law and strategic planning. He founded Rosenblatt Law Firm in 2005 with a vision of creating a comprehensive, one-stop firm capable of addressing both the professional and personal legal needs of business owners. A hallmark of James’s practice is his long-standing client relationships, with the firm continuing to serve many of the same clients who helped establish it nearly two decades ago. James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with honors from Wesleyan University, a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law, and a Master of Business Administration with honors from the University of the Incarnate Word. He is admitted to practice in Texas and multiple federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. 

Deeply engaged in the business and academic communities, James speaks to various business groups about legal issues and previously taught MBA and law courses at Texas A&M University–Kingsville (San Antonio Campus) and the University of the Incarnate Word. He is also an active philanthropist and civic leader, serving on the BioBridge Global Board, the secretary of the Texas Association of Business Brokers, and the Board Chair of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio. James has been recognized many times by *Best Lawyers in America* and other organizations. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys traveling with his family, reading history, and maintaining an extensive map collection.

Jeannie brings more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, with a career focused largely on healthcare and biomedical research organizations. She has served as Chief Financial Officer for a large trauma teaching hospital, a cancer center, and a federally funded biomedical research institution. After retiring from full-time employment, Jeannie joined a firm providing interim CFO services to small and mid-sized organizations, where she supported a wide range of nonprofit clients, including an adoption agency, a library foundation, pediatric speech therapy provider, ambulance company, and major cultural institutions such as a large San Antonio museum and the Alamo. She has also served as part-time CFO for a medical expert witness firm supporting insurance injury defense cases. 

Currently, Jeannie consults for a large local foundation, evaluating the financial health of nonprofit organizations seeking grant funding. Her expertise includes nonprofit financial statements, IRS Forms 990, strategic planning, human resources, policy development, and the design of internal controls to mitigate organizational risk. Jeannie has served on numerous nonprofit boards, particularly those supporting children and families, including AFS Intercultural Programs, The Children’s Shelter, Voices for Children, and Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas. In addition to BioBridge Global, she serves on the board of the San Antonio Book Festival and recently concluded service with the League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area. Jeannie holds a BS in Mathematical Sciences and an MS in Engineering Economics from Stanford University. She is married, with two children and three grandchildren.

Al Rajwani brings more than 37 years of global leadership experience from Procter & Gamble to his service on nonprofit boards in San Antonio. He currently serves as a Director of Texas Biomedical Research Institute and BioBridge Global, and previously served on the Advertising Standards Council of India and as Vice Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea. Al began his career at Procter & Gamble in 1981 after earning a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary. Over nearly four decades, he worked across multiple business units and geographies. His first 18 years were spent in North America, including seven years at P&G’s global headquarters in Cincinnati. Over the final 19 years of his career, Al served as Managing Director in Taiwan, Korea, the Arabian Peninsula and Pakistan, and later South Asia, with responsibility for India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. 

Known for pioneering the “Brutal Obsession with Fundamentals” (BOF) leadership approach, Al led major business turnarounds, including a significant profit recovery in India while sustaining strong revenue growth, and more than a decade of highly profitable double-digit growth in the Arabian Peninsula. He was also recognized for best-in-class integration of the Gillette acquisition. A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, Al led groundbreaking initiatives, including securing the first license to hire women in Saudi Arabia in 2005. Since retiring from P&G, Al and his wife, Nimet, have made San Antonio home. He is a graduate of Master Leadership Program Class XVI and is committed to civic service, embracing the program’s motto of “From Success to Significance.

Martin “Marty” Landon has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry. Landon has held senior positions in public and private companies and is recognized for building and leading high-performance teams and value-creating initiatives. In late 2016, he joined BioBridge Global as chief executive officer where he has led both cost efficiency/productivity and revenue growth initiatives. Landon also serves as chairman of the board of Renovo Concepts Inc., an early-stage medical device company based in San Antonio, and he serves on the boards of the San Antonio Medical Foundation and BioMedSA.

Landon began his career as an internal auditor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and later was an auditor for four years at the international accounting firm Arthur Andersen & Co. In 1987, Landon joined lntelogic Trace, a NYSE-traded firm, where he held a number of positions with increasing levels of responsibility, including chief financial officer.

From 1994 to 2012, Landon was an executive at Kinetic Concepts Inc., now 3M, a global medical device company, where he led numerous acquisitions and financial and securities transactions. He developed major process improvements and IT initiatives that contributed to extraordinary growth, culminating in a $6.3 billion leveraged buyout. During his tenure at KCI, annual revenues increased from $250 million to nearly $2 billion.

Prior to his current role, Landon served as president and CEO of CeloNova BioSciences Inc., an early stage, innovative medical device company that develops, manufactures and sells products with multiple vascular applications. During his tenure, CeloNova completed a sale of its embolic microspheres segment to Boston Scientific.

Dr. Charlene Davis is a Professor of Marketing and Department Chair of Business Administration at Trinity University. As an educator and scholar, she is known for bringing structure out of complexity in both her teaching and research. Dr. Davis emphasizes inquiry as the foundation of learning, encouraging students to build strong conceptual frameworks that support rigorous analysis and constructive creativity. Dr. Davis holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Kentucky, an MBA from Ball State University, and a BS in Management with a concentration in Production Operations, also from Ball State University. Her research focuses on consumer experience, nonprofit and arts marketing, and audience engagement, with publications in respected peer-reviewed journals including Nonprofit & Voluntary Sector Quarterly and The Journal of Nonprofit & Public Sector Marketing, as well as international academic conference proceedings. 

At Trinity University, Dr. Davis teaches Principles of Marketing and Promotion Management and is deeply involved in academic leadership and service. Her campus contributions include chairing and serving on multiple committees, mentoring new faculty, sponsoring student organizations, and supporting student academic showcases and first-year initiatives. Professionally, Dr. Davis is active in national marketing organizations, including the Society for Marketing Advances, the Academy of Marketing Science, and the American Marketing Association, contributing to the advancement of marketing scholarship and education.

Barb Holcomb is a retired U.S. Army Major General with 33 years of distinguished service as a leader in nursing, healthcare, medical research, and logistics. She held command positions at every rank from Captain onward and deployed in support of Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Joint Guardian (Kosovo), Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation New Dawn. Her final assignment was as the 25th Chief of the Army Nurse Corps and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command and Fort Detrick in Maryland. She retired from active duty on June 1, 2020. 

Barb is a Distinguished Military Graduate of Seattle University ROTC with a BS in Nursing. She holds a master’s degree in Nursing Administration from the University of Kansas, a graduate certification in Emergency and Disaster Management from American Military University, and a master’s degree in Military Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. She is also a graduate of the Master Leadership Program of Greater San Antonio, Class XVII. 

She is CEO of Barb Holcomb Consulting, LLC, advising on medical research strategy, federal healthcare planning, leadership, and organizational development. Barb serves on the boards of Q30, Maxwell Biosciences, Humanetics Corporation, AVEM Health Partners, and BioBridge Global. A lifelong nurse, she volunteers weekly in the Brooke Army Medical Center Emergency Department and serves as Vice President of 360MVP. She lives near San Antonio with her husband, Max.

Donald H. Jenkins, MD, FACS, is a nationally and internationally recognized trauma surgeon, academic leader, and military health innovator. He serves as Professor of Surgery and Vice Chair for Quality in the Department of Surgery, holds the Betty and Bob Kelso Distinguished Chair in Burn and Trauma Surgery, and is Associate Deputy Director of the Military Health Institute within the Division of Trauma and Emergency Surgery. Dr. Jenkins earned a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Scranton and his MD from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He completed surgical training at Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Medical Center and a trauma/critical care fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1984 to 2008, including as Trauma Medical Director at Wilford Hall’s Level I trauma center. 

Following 9/11, Dr. Jenkins was the principal architect of the Joint Trauma System in Iraq and Afghanistan, helping build the most advanced military trauma system in history—an effort credited with saving thousands of lives. After leaving active duty, he served as Trauma Medical Director at Mayo Clinic and led the transformation of the Minnesota Trauma System into a global model of excellence. Dr. Jenkins has held numerous national leadership roles, including President of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and Chair of the American College of Surgeons Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Committee. He has authored more than 275 peer-reviewed publications and received the American Legion Distinguished Service Medal, its highest honor.

Rohit Kashyap is President of Advanced Wound Management and Global Commercial Operations at Smith+Nephew, where he leads one of the company’s core businesses and oversees global sales training, medical education, market access, and digital commercial functions across all business units. A customer-centric executive, Rohit brings deep global experience spanning engineering, corporate development, strategic marketing, business development, and commercial leadership within wound care and surgical management. Before joining Smith+Nephew, Rohit spent more than 20 years at Acelity (formerly KCI), a global leader in advanced wound care. 

As President of Global Commercial, he was a principal architect of the company’s strategy and led its execution, playing a key role in building and sustaining Acelity’s market leadership. He later served as President of the Wound and Surgical business and Chief Commercial Officer at MIMEDX, where he led a successful multi-year transformation that strengthened company culture and delivered consistent growth. Rohit holds an MS and PhD in Bioengineering from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from Northwestern University. He resides in Texas with his wife of more than 23 years and their two daughters.

Joyce Anne LeMaistre, MD, is a nationally recognized physician executive and medical informatics leader who retired from Ascension, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit Catholic health systems. Most recently, she served as Associate Vice President of Healthcare Information Technology Policy Innovation, supporting Ascension’s technology, growth, marketing, digital experience, and advocacy teams on state and federal health IT policy, with a focus on interoperability, privacy, and data governance. She also provided strategic medical informatics expertise on platform and data architecture, technology integration, compliance, and digital transformation. From 2019 to 2020, Dr. LeMaistre served as Vice President of Enterprise Applications and Platforms for Ascension Technologies, leading more than 1,300 associates delivering enterprise-scale, reliable software solutions to support clinicians and business stakeholders nationwide. 

Previously, she was Vice President of Enterprise Clinical Informatics, overseeing informatics teams across 140 hospitals and 40 senior living and hundreds of other clinical care facilities in 19 states and Washington, DC. Over a 30-year career in medical informatics, Dr. LeMaistre held leadership roles at the Seton Family of Hospitals, University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago, UT Medical School at Houston, and Hermann Hospital. She also served on the federal Health Information Technology Standards Committee from 2013 to 2017. Dr. LeMaistre earned a BS from Texas A&M University and an MD from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She trained in clinical pathology and hematopathology and has co-authored publications in leading journals including Blood and The New England Journal of Medicine. She lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband, Ron.

Charles J Lerner, MD, retired after a 47-year career as an infectious disease physician and hospital epidemiologist. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America and a founding member of San Antonio Infectious Diseases Consultants. He attained his SB degree from the University of Chicago and his MD degree from St. Louis University. 

His postgraduate training was at the Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago.  He then served in the USAF. He taught medical students as a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. His philosophy of giving back to the community led him to the Medical Advisory Board of the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center in 1987 and to the Board of Directors starting in 1989.

Bret Piatt is a partner at Piatt & Company, a boutique strategy firm, where he leverages extensive experience as an advisor, executive, and investor in leading-edge technologies including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software-as-a-service, and cybersecurity. Previously, he served as chief executive officer of CyberFortress, shaping the global cybersecurity company through multiple acquisitions, and he co-founded Porthcawl Holdings, a technology-focused equity investment firm. His career also includes launching OpenStack, leading a $100+ million SaaS business unit at Rackspace, and managing AT&T’s Global Firewall Managed Service. 

A recognized thought leader, Piatt hosted “Cyber Talk Radio,” published in Forbes and CSO Online, and presented globally on topics such as AI and cyber-risk. He studied computer science and mathematics at California State University, Chico, and earned an executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology.

Mr. Rafferty serves as Director of the South Central Region of the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC, www.tmac.swri.org), a federally supported program hosted by Southwest Research Institute (SwRI®). In this role, he leads a multidisciplinary team of manufacturing professionals providing affordable, hands-on technical assistance to manufacturers across Texas. Under his direction, TMAC supports companies in key areas including process improvement, quality systems, automation, cybersecurity, and product and process innovation—helping organizations improve competitiveness, productivity, and resilience. TMAC is part of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), administered by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and serves as a critical resource for small and mid-sized manufacturers seeking practical solutions and operational excellence. 

Southwest Research Institute (www.swri.org) is an independent, nonprofit applied research and development organization focused on the creation and transfer of technology.
