Blood donors have a chance to win tickets to the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin.
AN ANTONIO — South Texas Blood & Tissue wants to give donors a seat in the fast lane.
From now through Oct. 8, anyone who gives blood at a South Texas Blood & Tissue donor center and uses promo code RACE when scheduling an appointment will be entered into a drawing to win two tickets to the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix on Oct. 25 at Circuit of The Americas in Austin.
The prize includes two covered grandstand tickets and parking for race day.
Donating blood is a simple way to make a lifesaving difference for patients in our community. Now, it could also put donors on the road to an unforgettable racing experience.
Blood donations help people like Chris Martin, who experienced an adverse reaction following a kidney transplant and needed blood transfusions to keep him alive. Chris has needed transfusions since then and remembers clearly how different he felt afterward.
“After blood transfusions, you notice an immediate difference,” he said. “It’s kind of a return to normalcy.”
Today, Chris is participating in a paired donation program while waiting for another kidney.
