IHOP and South Texas Blood & Tissue have joined forces to offer blood donors who give at any donor center a coupon for a free buttermilk short stack, redeemable at any IHOP restaurant in the greater San Antonio area. From June 1-15, donors get a voucher to treat themselves to a short stack of buttermilk pancakes.
“This is a critical time for our blood supply. The need for blood continues, but the pace of donations traditionally slows during the summer months because there are no school drives and fewer donors are available because of travel,” said Francine Piña, Senior Manager of Marketing and Community Engagement for South Texas Blood & Tissue. “Working together with IHOP is not only a way to thank donors but opens a new channel to possibly bring in new donors who may have never thought about donating blood.
“We are delighted for this opportunity to be a part of such an important and worthwhile effort,” added Mark Williams, Senior Regional Marketing Manager for IHOP.
As one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the U.S., our area is experiencing a rising demand for blood. Since blood transfusions are one of the top procedures performed in hospitals, an increased number of hospital beds correlates to an increased need for blood.
Blood donors can donate at any San Antonio donor center or community blood drive for a voucher.
