Iron Deficiency
Don’t let low iron levels bring you down. Use the following tips to help produce red blood cells as you prepare to donate again:
Choose Iron-Rich Foods. Between donations, you can help your body build and replenish its iron supply by adding more Vitamin C and iron-rich foods to your diet such as green, leafy vegetables, beans, dried fruit and red meat or seafood.
Supplements. If you are between 16-17 years of age, we suggest you take iron supplements or a multivitamin.
