
Fight childhood cancer and get tickets to a San Antonio FC match when you donate blood this month
SAN ANTONIO – Cancer affects people of every race, gender, and age, including young children. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and South Texas Blood & Tissue is teaming up with The Soccer Factory, who will host two special blood drives to raise awareness of this cause.
Anybody who gives blood at the drives will receive two tickets to the Sept. 27th San Antonio FC match at Toyota Field against Birmingham Legion FC. South Texas Blood & Tissue is a proud sponsor of SAFC and is thrilled to participate in their Cancer Awareness Night, in support of those affected with over 25% of all donated blood going to cancer patients.

According to the American Association for Cancer Research, one in 285 children under age 20 will be diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Patients like 15-year-old Halo diagnosed with lymphoma in July 2025. Halo has endured several rounds of chemotherapy and has been told she would possibly need blood transfusions.
