UTSA 210 Day blood drive turns school spirit into lifesaving donations
SAN ANTONIO – South Texas Blood & Tissue is teaming up with UT San Antonio (UTSA) for the second annual 210 Day Blood Drive.
In 2023, the City of San Antonio and the Bexar County Commissioners Court proclaimed Feb. 10 as UTSA 210 Day. “Let’s Go 210” (“two-one-oh”) has since become a rallying cry that fills the stands and reflects the strong connection between San Antonio and the UTSA Roadrunners.
The organizations are teaming up to turn that connection into something lifesaving. On Feb. 10, UTSA will host a blood drive on campus. All donors will receive a very limited edition “I’m a Rowdy 210 Blood Donor T-shirt”.
The goal of the blood drive is to collect at least 210 donations for 210 Day.

The need is personal for families like five-year-old Aleyda’s. Diagnosed with leukemia at just three years old, Aleyda depends on platelet and blood transfusions to be strong enough to receive chemotherapy. Her mother says blood donations are often the difference between days when Aleyda feels weak and days when her energy, color, and playful spirit return. Community donors give children like Aleyda the chance to keep fighting.
