Blood donors can enter to win multiple prizes just in time for the holidays
The Season of Giving is underway and blood donors have a chance to give – and win – some of this year’s hottest gifts, including a Dyson Airwrap, iPhone14, 3D printer and much more.
To be entered in the Season of Giving sweepstakes for a shot at multiple prizes, donors must give blood now through Dec. 15, post a selfie with the hashtag #SantasBloodDonors on social media, and complete the entry form at SouthTexasBlood.org/Give.
The Season of Giving comes at a time when the community blood supply struggles to maintain at least a three-day supply and even less for the O blood supply.
Type O blood is the most-needed blood type. While all blood types are important, the demand is especially high for O-negative donors as they make up just 8% of the population, but O-negative blood can be transfused to any patient in emergency situations. This is important as every 2 seconds a patient in this country needs a blood transfusion.
